Colonial Cup Champions to Grand Marshal Do-Dah Parade

Kalamazoo, MI- The Kalamazoo Wings, proud members of the United Hockey League and 2005-06 Colonial Cup Champions, announce they have been selected to be the Grand Marshals of the 2006 Do-Dah Parade this Saturday, June 3rd in Downtown Kalamazoo.
The parade will commence at 11 a.m. The parade route will take the K-Wings from Lovell Street to Park Street, Park Street to Michigan Avenue, Michigan Avenue to Pitcher Street and Pitcher Street back to Lovell Street.
"This is the perfect opportunity to celebrate the Kalamazoo Wings championship," said Vickie Kettner, Director of Community Relations of Downtown Kalamazoo Incorporated. "We are extremely thrilled to have them lead this year's Do-Dah Parade."
K-Wing players and staff will be on hand with the Colonial Cup. Kalamazoo captured the Colonial Cup last Saturday night in Danbury, Connecticut with a 4-3 overtime victory in Game Five of the Series. The K-Wings, who defeated the Trashers 4 games to 1, capped off their "Destination: Colonial Cup" with a record of 12-1.
"We are honored and privileged that Downtown Kalamazoo Incorporated wants us to be the Grand Marshals of the 2006 Do-Dah Parade," said Vice President and General Manager Paul L. Pickard. "The Colonial Cup is not only the achievement of the Kalamazoo Wings, but our corporate partners, season ticket holders, fans and our community and we want to celebrate the victory with all of them."
After the parade, the K-Wings will be hosting a Colonial Cup Victory Celebration in The Annex. The celebration, which is open to the public, will start at 7 p.m. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m., seating will be first come, first served and capacity for the festivities will be 3,000. The K-Wings are asking that all fans enter party though The Annex Player Entrance. The organization will be announcing further plans of the celebration later this week.
