Cody Clark Returns to Naturals Roster

The Kansas City Royals transferred Fayetteville resident Cody Clark back to the Naturals roster on Tuesday. Clark had spent the better part of two weeks with the Triple-A Omaha Royals, the Kansas City Royals affiliate in the Pacific Coast League. Clark, 26, was batting .225 in 17 games for the Naturals this season with three homers and six RBI at the time of his promotion. During his stint with the O-Royals, Clark got one start behind the dish and had an impressive 2-for-3 night with a triple and a home run.

Clark has joined up with the Naturals in Midland and will be in uniform tomorrow evening for the game against the RockHounds. He will wear #8 with the Naturals.

In a related transaction, right-hander Aaron Hartsock was returned to Advanced-A Wilmington. Hartsock, the 24-year old Imperial, CA resident, made just one appearance with the Naturals during his short time here, but was impressive, striking out five batters and earning a rare four-inning save in Sunday's game against Frisco. After getting tagged with a home run on his first delivery to home plate, Hartsock settled in and fanned five batters without walking anyone during his impressive effort. With the Blue Rocks in 2008, Hartsock has posted a 3-2 record and a 1.78 ERA in 13 appearances.

Hartsock joined the team during the recently completed six-game homestand when right-hander Julio De La Cruz left the game with a sore shoulder. De La Cruz has been sent to the Royals' Surprise, Arizona facilities for further treatment and rehab.

The Naturals roster continues to stand at the Texas League limit of 24 active players.

The Naturals begin a six-game road trip to Midland and Frisco, TX and return home on June 4th to face the Arkansas Travelers. The Naturals are the Double-A Texas League affiliate of the Kansas City Royals and play at state-of-the-art Arvest Ballpark, conveniently located off I-540 in Springdale.
