CHARLOTTE - The Carolina Cobras have resigned kicker Matt George, who tied the team's single season records with 15 field goals made and 42 field goals attempted during the 2003 campaign.

He also tied a franchise record in connecting on a 51-yard field goal on two occasions (4/11 vs. Tampa Bay, 5/16 vs. New York). Overall, George has connected on five field goals of 50 or more yards in his career.

Prior to joining the Cobras, George spent two seasons with the Toronto Phantoms (2001-2002), where he compiled a franchise-record 248 career points in 28 games. The California native works in the television and film industry throughout the offseason, serving as a production assistant on the first two editions of "The Bachelor." George also currently works on screenplays of his own and hopes to direct and produce following the completion of his football career. While at Chapman, he was a classmate and friend of Colin Hanks, son of Oscar-winner Tom Hanks and star of "Orange County" and "Get Over It."
