Montreal, Sept. 29, 2009 - Montreal Alouettes running back Avon Cobourne has been named the CFL's Offensive Player of the Week for Week 13.

The West Virginia product enjoyed the most successful game of his career so far in the Alouettes' 42-8 win over the Tiger-Cats at Hamilton's Ivor Wynne Stadium, recording a personal-best 193 yards and two touchdowns on 23 carries while adding 46 yards on five catches.

He also surpassed the 1,000 rushing-yards plateau in a season for the first time and now leads the CFL with 13 touchdowns - including 11 rushing majors, 1,423 yards from scrimmage and 1,043 rushing yards.

The Alouettes will face the Toronto Argonauts at Rogers Centre this Saturday, Oct. 3 at 1 p.m. (RDSHD, TSNHD, CKAC SPORTS, CJAD 800 AM, 98,5 FM).
