Coach Vincent Wins 400th Game

On their first game back from their Christmas break, the Montreal Juniors faced off against the Victoriaville Tigers at the Verdun Auditorium, in front of an attendance of 3,402 fans.

The first period started off at a fast pace with Denis Kindl finding the back of the net just 1:31into the game with his ninth of the season. It would prove to be a back and forth period, with both teams trading goals, Philip-Michal Davos (Victoriaville) with his 27th and David Rose with his 12th (Montreal).

In the second, it would be Montrealgoaltender Jean-Franois Brub's time to shine, multiplying acrobatic saves while teammate David Rose would notch his second of the game at the 7:29mark, allowing the Juniors to go back to the locker room with a 3-1 lead.

In the final frame, it was Victoriavillegoaltender Antonio Mastropetrio's time to shine, keeping his team in the game while watching teammate Carl-Antoine Delisle score his eight. It would prove to be the last time the Tigers could trick Brub's vigilance, the Montrealgoaltender finishing the night with 29 saves. Montreal player Jean-Christophe Laflamme would later reply for his team with his fifth, forcing the Tigers to pull their goaltender, allowing Denis Kindl (10th) to add an empty net goal for a 5-2 Juniors win.

David Rose, Denis Kindl and Jean-Franois Brub were first, second and third stars respectively, in an all-Montreal sweep of the game honours. The Juniors will play their next game tomorrow night in Shawiniganagainst the Cataractes.
