Waterloo Black Hawks News Release
Waterloo, Iowa-During the 2013/14 hockey season, CN and the Waterloo Black Hawks will recognize local community organizations at Young Arena in appreciation of those groups' efforts to make the Cedar Valley a better place.
The Community Ticket Program made possible by CN - Canadian National Railway Company - will provide tickets to charitable organizations seeking to send their volunteers to a Black Hawks home game. As early as 2003, CN began similar programs with hockey teams throughout its service area. Today the company works with dozens of teams to provide thousands of tickets annually.
"We appreciate this opportunity to do a good deed in our community," noted Black Hawks Vice President of Business Operations Mike Falk. "The Black Hawks and non-profit groups throughout the Cedar Valley are grateful to have CN's support."
Local charities and organizations interested in obtaining tickets through the Community Ticket program this season are encouraged to call the Black Hawks front office at (319) 232-3444.
Reaching from Canada to the Gulf of Mexico and from the Atlantic to Pacific, CN moves $250 billion (Canadian) of goods throughout North America each year. The Community Ticket initiative is one aspect of CN's commitment to responsible corporate citizenship, safety, and environmental sustainability.
The Black Hawks open the regular season on the road against the Chicago Steel on Saturday, September 21st before starting the home schedule the following Friday, September 27th versus the Dubuque Fighting Saints. Individual game regular season tickets for the home opener and all other games at Young Arena will be available on September 13th when the Hawks meet the Fargo Force for an exhibition contest.
