Cleveland teammates share WBA award

Teammates, Steve Thomas (203-F-81, college: Middle Tenn.St.) and Dontae Truitt (198-G/F, college: Georgia SW), share WBA Player of Week honors for May 20th - May 26th.

Steve Thomas (203-F-81, college: Middle Tenn.St.) was chosen as the Co-Player of the Week in the WBA for May 20th - May 26th. Thomas had a monterous week, averaging 20.6 points, 13.3 rebounds and shooting 61% from the field and 75% from the FT line, while leading the Cleveland Majic to a 2-1 record for the week. Thomas started with 11 points and 15 rebounds in a 111-101 loss at Magic City on May 21st, then exploded for 35 points and 14 rebounds in a 113-108 win at Kentucky on May 22nd, and followed that with a 16 point, 11 rebound effort, as the Majic upset the visiting Gulf Coast Bandits 104-88 on May 23rd. For the season, Steve is averaging 13.7 points, 11.4 rebounds and 1 block per game, while shooting 57.5% from the field and 72.2% from the FT line.

Thomas' teammate, Dontae Truitt (198-G/F, college: Georgia SW), also had a great week and has been chosen to share Co-Player of the Week honors for the week. Dontae averaged 29.6 points, 6.3 rebounds, 4 assists and 1.3 steals, all while shooting 66% from the field and 60% (6-10) from beyond the 3-point line. Truitt poured in 32 points and pulled 8 rebounds against Magic City, then downed 27 points in the win at Kentucky, and finished the week with a 30 point, 5 rebound, 6 assist performance in Cleveland's stunning win over Gulf Coast. For the season, Truitt is averaging 23.6 point, 7.9 rebounds, 1.2 steals, and is shooting a cool 55.8% from the field.
