
Cleveland Grabs MISL Weekly Honor For Third Consecutive Week

CLEVELAND, OHIO- Cleveland Force defender John Ball has been named the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) Defender of the Week for the seven-day period ending March 21. This marks the third straight week that the Force has received a MISL Weekly honor and the eighth overall award this season. Cleveland has grabbed four goalkeeper of the week, three defender of the week and one offensive player of the week awards.
Ball scored three points (goal, two assists) and blocked eight shots in Cleveland's two victories last week. The 31-year-old assisted on two scores and blocked four shots in the Force's 8-3 win over Philadelphia last Friday, and tallied a goal and four rejections in an 8-7 overtime win against Kansas City on Sunday. The three-time All-Star has scored nine points and blocked 19 shots over his last nine games, and has registered 25 points (12 goals, 13 assists) and 47 blocks on the season.
Ball joins forward Zoran Karic, goalkeeper Jim Larkin, defender Omid Namazi, defender Josh Timbers and as the other Force players to earn the MISL Weekly Honor. Karic earned the Offensive Player of the Week on January 19 and Larkin has earned the Goalkeeper of the Week on October 27, December 8, March 8 and March 18. Namazi was selected Defender of the Week on February 16 while Timbers was named the Defender of the Week on November 3.
