Cleveland Gladiators To Hold Open Player Tryout

CLEVELAND - The Cleveland Gladiators are pleased to announce the team will hold an open player tryout on Sunday, February 7, 2010, at the team's practice facility - Multiplex Events & Sports Center located at The WORD CHURCH in Warrensville Heights, Ohio.

Registration for the open player tryout begins at 9:30 a.m. with the workout beginning promptly at 10:30 p.m. The Multiplex is located at 18909 South Miles Road, Warrensville Heights, Ohio, 44128. All participants must be 18 years of age or older as of February 7.

The cost of participating in the open player tryout is $70 pre-registered and $80 for registering the day of the event. To pre-register, interested participants must pay by credit card only by visiting www.clevelandgladiators.com and completing the appropriate forms. The pre-registration deadline is Wednesday, February 3 at 5:00 p.m. Cash or money order will be the only accepted payment the day of the tryout. Both fees are non-refundable.

Gladiators Head Coach STEVE THONN and his staff will be evaluating all players in attendance.

Players will be tested in the standing broad jump, 40-yard dash and short shuttle. Following testing, players will be evaluated in a variety of specific position drills.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

** Participants will receive a t-shirt for the tryout

** To be considered for pre-registration, the Gladiators must receive payment and the online form by Wednesday, February 3 at 5:00 p.m.

** The open player tryout will be conducted on Astroturf and field turf, so participants are encouraged to wear appropriate footwear (NO SPIKES).

** Please plan on 3-5 hours for the tryout.

** Please bring plenty of water, as it will not be provided.

** A trainer will be on hand for emergencies only - not for player taping.

** There is no full-contact, thus, no need for shoulder pads or helmets.

** Kickers will not be evaluated during this tryout.
