FORCE STREAKS:
Midfielder Robbie Aristodemo has appeared in 88 straight games. Aristodemo appeared in 72 straight games for the San Diego Sockers.
AROUND THE BLOCK:
Force defender Wendell Regis is once again the leader in the MISL in blocks with 32 blocks. Regis four three block performance on Sunday put him two ahead of Philadelphia KiXX defender Pat Morris. Wendell has held the team lead all season and is five blocks ahead of Rene Rivas and nine ahead of John Ball.
FORCE SIGNS THREE FROM DISPERSAL DRAFT:
Cleveland Force President and General Manager Paul Garofolo announced that the team has signed its first three selections in the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) Dispersal Draft that allocated players from Monterrey and San Diego. Cleveland has inked two-time MISL Defender of the Year Genoni Martinez, forward Tamas Weicz and defender Matt Johnson to contracts.
Martinez, who was the Force first selection and the second overall pick, has agreed to terms to a two-year plus an option year contract. Weicz, who was Cleveland's second pick in the draft and the ninth overall selection, agreed to terms to a three-year plus an option year contract. Johnson, Cleveland's third round selection, agreed to terms to a one-year plus an option year contract on January 6.
GOALKEEPER GETS WEEKLY HONOR:
Cleveland Force goalkeeper Jim Larkin has been named the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) Goalkeeper of the Week for the seven-day period ending January 23. This marks the second time this season that Larkin and the Force have received a MISL Weekly honor. Jim has now received the MISL Weekly honor on 11 occasions in his career with the Cleveland franchise.
Larkin, a 29-year old native of Toronto, Canada, recorded a season-high 24 saves on 27 shots (.889 save percentage), surrendering only three goals in 62:27, in Cleveland's thrilling 4-3 overtime win in Milwaukee on Saturday. He also played the final seven minutes of Cleveland's 8-4 loss in Chicago on Friday.
BUSINESS LEADERS NIGHT:
