Spokane Shock News Release
Spokane, WA: The Shock announced today that DL Richard Clebert and OL Brandon Leyritz have re-signed with Spokane for the 2011 season. To date, twelve players from the 2010 ArenaBowl Championship roster have re-signed with the Shock for 2011.
Last season, Clebert started in all 16 games during the regular season and recorded 12 tackles, 2.5 sacks and one forced fumble. Clebert, 6-0 325, also played a significant role in Spokane's 67-59 win over Tampa Bay in the ArenaBowl when he returned a Brett Dietz fumble 35-yards to help set up Spokane's second touchdown of the night.
"Sometimes the nose guard isn't the guy who gets all the glory, but he is the one who can free up a lot of sacks for other people," Head Coach Rob Keefe said. "I think it takes a true warrior to put his head in there every single play and to keep fighting for an entire season like he did."
A mid-season acquisition, Leyritz started and played in three games during the regular season. A three-year veteran of the af2, Leyritz, 6-3 320, also spent his rookie season (2007) in Spokane.
"I think Brandon is a great asset to have on any team," Keefe said. "I think you have to have depth on the offensive line. We are very excited for him to come in and compete for a starting spot all season."
