Blaze Dancer Tryouts Announced

SALT LAKE CITY - The Utah Blaze will be holding open tryouts for the 2011 Blaze Dance Team. There will be two prep classes prior to the final preliminary tryout on Wednesday, October 20th in the Centennial Management Room at the Maverik Center.
The prep classes will be held on Wednesday, October 13th and Monday, October 18th at 24 Hour Fitness in Taylorsville. The prep classes will include conditioning, across the floor technique and choreography. Portions of the choreography included in the prep classes will be used as part of the final audition. If you attend any of the prep classes, the judging fee will be waived, otherwise a $20 audition fee will be charged. Pre-registration and attending the prep classes is strongly recommended.
Auditions will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 20th, beginning with across the floor technique, a jazz routine, and a hip hop routine. Cuts will be until there are 25-30 dancers remaining who will be invited back for interviews and the finals on Friday, October 22nd. Practices will be one to two times a week, rehearsing on Wednesday evenings and/or Saturday mornings. Dancers will be compensated for the games and appearances.
