Jersey Shore BlueClaws News Release

LAKEWOOD, NJ -- Aaron Baker hit a two-run double in the first, and Quinton Miller bounced back from a rough start to lead West Virginia to a 4-0 win Saturday night.

The Power (15-21) split the four game series with the BlueClaws (23-13) thanks to a strong five innings from their starter and four no-hit frames from their bullpen.

After giving up seven runs in just 2/3 innings his last time out, Miller (2-1) allowed just four hits and struck out five. Zach Foster and Gabriel Alvarado chipped the next four innings and retired the last 13 batters they faced.

With runners on second and third and one out in the first, Aaron Baker doubled to left-center to give the Power an early edge. The two-runs were the first earned tallies allowed by Lakewood starter Brody Colvin (5-7) since July 4th, a span of five starts.

The Power padded their lead in the fourth with a run scoring on a Stephen Batts throwing error at third, and another coming in on a Jarek Cunningham single.

Colvin let up four runs (three earned) in just four innings. Julio Rodriguez struck out nine in his four innings out of the bullpen and Kyle Carr threw a scoreless ninth.

Sunday will be a travel day for Lakewood, as they head down to Greenville for a four game series against the first place Drive starting on Monday at 7:00 pm.
