Clackson and Duddy Return to Gwinnett

The Gwinnett Gladiators have agreed to terms with forward Chris Clackson and defenseman Sean Duddy for the 2012-13 season.

Clackson announced his own return to the Gladiators on Twitter this morning (@chrisclackson17) and tweeted: "@gwtgladiators I want to officially announce that I have signed with Gladiators for next season. Very excited to come back to GA. #goglads"

The Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania native earned 23 points (10 goals, 13 assists) in 31 games last season with Gwinnett. He also earned two call ups to the American Hockey League last year with Rochester and Houston. He notched two points (one goal, one assist) in 28 games with the Aeros and was held scoreless in one appearance with the Americans last year.

In his first full professional season in 2010-11, Clackson earned 24 points (10 goals, 14 assists) in 46 ECHL games with Greenville and Cincinnati. He also appeared in 17 AHL games with Rochester where he earned four points (two goals, two assists).

The 6-foot, 205-pound forward skated four seasons at Western Michigan University from 2006-2010. He earned 36 points (19 goals, 17 assists) in 129 career collegiate games with the Broncos. Following his senior season at Western Michigan in 2009-10, he appeared in two AHL games with the Adirondack Phantoms.

Duddy returns to Gwinnett for his first full professional season. He earned four points (one goal, three assists) in seven games following his final collegiate season at Ohio State University last year. He also skated in all four Kelly Cup Playoff games with Gwinnett last year and notched one assist.

Last year as a Buckeye, Duddy earned 14 points (one goal, 13 assists) in 35 games. In four collegiate seasons at the Ohio State University, Duddy earned 24 points (two goals, 22 assists) in 124 career games.

The Ann Arbor, Michigan native was a two-time team captain at Ohio State. He was the 2009 Coaches Award winner, a three-time Ohio State Scholar-Athlete and two-time Academic All-Big Ten selection and Big Ten Distinguished Scholar while with the Buckeyes.

Prior to attending Ohio State, Duddy skated one season with Wichita Falls Wildcats of the North American Hockey League in 2007-08. He earned five points (two goals, three assists) in 56 games with the Wildcats. While with Wichita Falls, Duddy was named the Wildcats' Defensive Player of the Year.

The Gladiators are the ECHL Affiliate of the Phoenix Coyotes of the National Hockey League and are members of the ECHL, the Premier "AA" Hockey League and play all home games at the 11,355-seat Arena at Gwinnett Center, located just off I-85 on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth.
