
Bulls Add Matt Carter

San Francisco, Calif. - The San Francisco Bulls Professional Hockey Team, proud affiliate of the San Jose Sharks, announced today the signing of left wing Matt Carter. The Bulls' roster has reached 13 players, including 10 forwards, for the inaugural 2012-13 season.
Carter, 25, is set to begin his first full professional season. The Mississauga, Ontario native has played in 14 ECHL games with Cincinnati and Phoenix. After finishing his career with the University of Prince Edward Island (PEI) of the Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS), Carter spent the end of the 2011-12 season with Cincinnati, finishing with five points (4 goals, 1 assist) in 11 games."Matt was one of the top forwards in all of the Canadian college ranks," said SF Bulls President and Head Coach Pat Curcio. "After a very productive four years at the college level, Matt's ready to make the jump to the pro game. He showed strong signs of that with his stint with Cincinnati."
At 6-foot, 1-inches and 224 pounds, Carter led PEI in scoring his third and final seasons, finishing with 44 points in 28 games in 2010-11 and 38 points in 28 games in 2011-12. He tied for first in the league in scoring 2010-11 and ranked second in the league in 2011-12. Carter ranked second on PEI in scoring his first two seasons. In his four years with PEI, Carter totaled 144 points (69 goals, 75 assists) in 111 games. Prior to playing with PEI, Carter led Owen Sound of the Ontario Hockey League with 30 goals and 54 points in 61 games in 2007-08.
"I'm looking forward to starting my pro career with a brand new team," said Carter. "I'm really excited about the buzz I'm hearing about the team. I've heard great things from other players about playing under Pat. From what I've seen so far, he's very passionate and putting together a good team."
