Cincinnati's Dekanich Named Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender Of The Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Mark Dekanich of the Cincinnati Cyclones is the Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week for Nov. 30-Dec. 6.

The 23 year old was 2-0-0 with a goals-against average of 0.48 and a save percentage of.981 to help the Cyclones extend their winning streak to four games and move within one point of the North Division Lead.

Dekanich made his ECHL debut against Florida on Dec. 4 stopping 22 shots in regulation and two in overtime before turning aside all four attempts in the shootout for a 2-1 win. He had 27 saves the following night in a 3-0 win against the Everblades.

Drafted in the fifth round (146th overall) by Nashville in the 2006 National Hockey League Entry Draft and under NHL contract to the Predators, Dekanich has been playing in the American Hockey League where he is 5-5-2 with a goals-against average of 2.78 in 13 games for Milwaukee.

He played in the AHL as a rookie and was 15-10-2 with one shutout, a goals-against average of 2.09 and a save percentage of.923 in 30 games for Milwaukee.

During four seasons at Colgate University he was 52-45-16 with 11 shutouts, a goals-against average of 2.25 and a save percentage of.923 in 118 games from 2004-08.
