Cincinnati Kings over Detroit Waza, 8-3 Behind a four-goal night by former University of Cincinnati soccer standout Jeff Hughes and a hat trick by Drew Ducker, the Cincinnati Kings jumped out to a 2-0 lead and never trailed in their 8-3 victory Friday night over the Detroit Waza in PASL indoor soccer action at the Cincinnati Gardens.
The Kings got on the board with a goal in the first quarter by Shaun Lamar, then followed up less than five minutes later with a power play goal by Hughes, the league's third leading scorer.
The Waza got two scores in the second quarter, but the Kings got a goal back from Ducker to make it 3-2 at the break. Hughes then scored the next three goals in the game, two in the third quarter and his fourth just seconds into the final quarter to give the Kings a 6-2 lead. Two more goals by Ducker to complete his hat trick and one by Detroit in the final minute made the final score 8-3.
The Kings remain at the top of the Eastern Division with a 9-2 record, while Detroit falls to 5-3. The Kings next home game will be Saturday, January 29 against Ohio.
