
Cincinnati Kings season begins tonight in Louisville

A Look Back at the 2009-10 Season
Last season, the Cincinnati Kings playing as the 1790 Express, won the Eastern Division of the PASL with 12 wins and 4 losses and were perfect at home with eight wins. The Kings edged out rival Louisville who finished in second place in the division with 11 wins and five losses. The Ohio Vortex finished with 8 wins and 8 losses while the Detroit Waza closed out the season at 6 wins and 10 losses.
Cincinnati's season ended with a 6-5 loss to the Sidekicks de Estado de Mexico in the quarterfinals of the North American Championships in March.
Kings player Jeff Hughes led the league with a season-high 53 points and 37 goals, which earned him the League's Most Valuable Player and All-League First Team honors. Also earning recognition from the 2009-10 season were defender Jeff Henderson, All-League First Team and goalkeeper Craig Salvati, All-League Second Team.
A Preview of the 2010-11 Season
This season, Cincinnati returns 10 players who played on last year's division-winning team, including head coach Craig Rhodis. The team also moves to a new field and will call the historic Cincinnati Gardens their home.
MVP Jeff Hughes returns to action in a Kings uniform and will be joined by the team's other high scorers from last season: Matt Breines, who chipped in 25 goals/28 points and Shawn Rockey who scored 8 goals/31 points. Also returning is Sam Fiore who contributed 9 goals/13 points. All-League Second Team keeper Craig Salvati returns to the goal for the Kings. Last season, Salvati played in 13 games in the goal with the team winning 11 of those games.
The Kings will look for a fast start when they begin the season with two road games against their rivals, Louisville Lightning and the Ohio Vortex. The Kings christen their new home for the first time on Saturday, November 20, 7:35 p.m. at the Cincinnati Gardens.
