
Chris White and Jerry Phillips Sign With Riders

Today, the Saskatchewan Roughrider Football Club announced the signings of import defensive tackle Chris White and import linebacker Jerry Phillips. Details of the contracts were not disclosed.
Chris White has spent time in the NFL with Dallas, Atlanta, and Jacksonville. White was originally drafted by the Jaguars in 1999. White also spent four seasons at Southern University where he was named defensive lineman of the week six times and was All-SWAC in 1997 and 1998.
Jerry Phillips spent four seasons at Tulane University. Phillips was a two-time Butkus candidate and was 2nd Team All-Conference in 2000. The 23-year old led Tulane in defensive tackles in two separate seasons and racked up over 300 defensive tackles in his college career.

2000: Went to training camp with Jacksonville, but was released on final cut down...signed with Atlanta Falcons and palyed in five games...released by Falcons with two games left in season...signed by Dallas Cowboys and was inactive for final two games of the season. 1999: Went to training camp with Jacksonville Jaguars...played in all four pre-season games...released by the Jaguars, but re-signed with Jacksonville and spent the season on the practice roster.
COLLEGE: Recorded 38 defensive tackles and had four sacks as a senior at Southern University...registered 22 defensive tackles and three quarterback sacks in his junior season...picked up 28 defensive tackles and three quarterback sacks in his sophomore season.
