Chinooks to compete in Great Northwest Summer League

June 24, 2005 - Portland, Oregon. The Portland Chinooks announced today that they will play in the Great Northwest Summer League ("GNSL") which runs from June 25, 2005 through August 7, 2005. All GNSL games are played at Jefferson High School, located at 5210 N. Kerby Avenue, Portland.

Caanan Chapman, organizer of the GNSL, was excited to receive the Chinooks entry in the 2005 GNSL.

The Chinooks conclude their season in the International Basketball League on June 30, 2005 against the Tacoma Thunder in Tacoma, Washington, but will play their first game in the GNSL on Sunday, June 26, 2005 at 6 p.m at Jefferson High School.

Chinooks owner Terry Emmert said the decision to continue playing basketball was an easy one - "the fellows wanted to stay together, stay in shape and get ready for our next IBL season."
