Chiefs Memorabilia Headed for Hall of Fame
Peoria, IL- The Peoria Chiefs will soon have their first ever memorabilia enshrined in the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in Cooperstown, NY.
Chicago native, and Cubs fan Dan Migala is running the November 4th New York City Marathon to raise money for the Hall of Fame and will be wearing a Peoria Chiefs visor and two pins during part of the race. Migala, a Hall of Fame member, hopes to raise $100,000 worth of new members for the Museum's membership program during the 26.2 mile run. During the race, Migala will wear a custom-designed Under Armour Ryne Sandberg race jersey and will rotate hats between the Chicago Cubs, Iowa Cubs and Peoria Chiefs. All of his race gear will go into an exhibit at the Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum.
Migala will donate a copy of his forthcoming 2008 book Dugout Wisdom, featuring inspirational stories of Hall of Fame members and other baseball heroes to members who enroll at the $1,000 membership level. Fans can register through an online form at baseballhall.org. Migala works with more than 100 sports organizations, founded and produces The Migala Report, a monthly electronic publication to help sports marketing executives. The publication features sports marketing issues and strategies and analyzes current practices throughout both major and minor league organizations.
