Chico walks through Flyers

Flyers' pitchers walked nine Chico batters and hit two more in a 12-7 loss at Goodwin Field. Fullerton picked up 18 hits in defeat.

The Chico Outlaws evened the three game series with the Flyers at 1-1 by taking advantage of wild Flyers pitching in a 12-7 win at Goodwin Field. Craig Kuzmic hit his fourth homerun against the Flyers in Fullerton this season. Grant Gregg scattered 11 hits through 5.2 innings to get the win.

Chico took a commanding 6-0 lead behind a five run 4th inning. Todd Gossage had an RBI triple and Jason Matteucci drove in two runs.

Chico made the lead 10-1 after Mike Mallory's two RBI pop-up single with the bases loaded in the 5th inning.

Desi Wilson had three hits in the game for Chico.

The Flyers got positive debuts from Buddy Morales and Jon Grijalva. Morales doubled and walked, while Grijalva threw a scoreless 8th inning.

Peanut Williams had two more hits. He was leading the league in all three triple crown categories (HR, RBI, AVG.)coming into the game.

Todd Gelatka got the loss and Robert Mason was roughed up in relief.

Matt Lincoln will start for Fullerton tomorrow night at 7:05 pm at Goodwin Field.
