
Chicago's Sippio, Los Angeles' Stewart, And Kansas City's Williams Earn Week 10 Honors

NEW YORK - Chicago Rush WR BOBBY SIPPIO, Los Angeles Avengers OL/DL JASON STEWART, and Kansas City Brigade WR/DB BOO WILLIAMS have been named Offensive Player, ADT Defensive Player, and Ironman of the Week, respectively, for Week 10 of the 2007 season.
OFFENSIVE: Sippio (6-3, 220, Western Kentucky) tied a team-high 15 receptions with 159 yards and five touchdowns as Chicago (8-1) defeated the visiting Colorado Crush (6-4), 59-48, at Allstate Arena on Monday night. Sippio caught four touchdown passes on consecutive possessions as the Rush erased a 13-point deficit to take a 42-40 lead midway through the third quarter. He also returned one kickoff for 35 yards during the fourth quarter to set up Chicago's final score. The Rush take its eight-game winning streak into American Airlines Arena on Russell Athletic ESPN Arena Football Monday, May 14, at 8:30 p.m. ET (ESPN2 and ESPN360.com) to face the Dallas Desperados (9-1), Sippio's former team.
ADT DEFENSIVE: Stewart (6-1, 280, Fresno St.) registered 4.5 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, one forced fumble, one quarterback hurry, and one safety as the Avengers (5-4) defeated the Las Vegas Gladiators, 59-37, on Sunday. Stewart, in his second AFL season, finished a 22-0 run by the Avengers as he sacked Las Vegas QB BRIAN JONES for an eight-yard loss that also forced a fumble that was recovered in the end zone for a safety during the Gladiators first series of the third quarter. Stewart also had a key sack for a loss of seven yards on the second series of the fourth quarter as Las Vegas was threatening from the Avenger nine-yard line. Los Angeles (5-4) welcomes the Tampa Bay Storm (3-6) to the Staples Center on Saturday, May 12, at 10:30 p.m. ET (SUN - Live, FSN Prime Ticket - SDD, 5/13, 1:30 a.m. ET, SIRIUS Radio).
IRONMAN: Williams (6-4, 265, Arkansas) compiled eight receptions for 68 yards and three touchdowns on offense and notched three tackles with one fumble recovery on defense as the Kansas City Brigade (5-4) defeated the Philadelphia Soul (4-5), 53-41, at the Wachovia Center on Saturday. Williams, in his rookie season, recorded the first tackle of the game and then scored the first touchdown of the game on a seven-yard reception nine plays later to cap the Brigade's opening drive. With Kansas City leading 39-34 in the fourth quarter, Williams caught his second and third touchdown receptions on consecutive possessions extending the lead to 14 points with 52 seconds remaining in the game. The Brigade will next host the Utah Blaze (5-5) on Saturday, May 12, at 8 p.m. ET.
Offensive Player of the Week candidates included: San Jose QB Mark Grieb, Dallas QB Clint Dolezel and WR Marcus Nash, Kansas City QB Raymond Philyaw, Grand Rapids QB Chad Salisbury, Los Angeles WR Kevin Ingram and Tampa Bay QB Brett Dietz.
ADT Defensive Player of the Week candidates included: Tampa Bay DB Jeroid Johnson, Columbus DB Brandon Hefflin, Grand Rapids DB Tray Bell, Los Angeles DB Eddie Canonico and DB Damen Wheeler, Dallas OL/DL Colston Weatherington, and Chicago DB Dennison Robinson.
Ironman of the Week candidates included: Columbus WR/DB BJ Barre, Grand Rapids WR/DB Timon Marshall, Dallas WR/DB Will Pettis, Tampa Bay WR/DB Lawrence Samuels, and San Jose WR/LB Jason Geathers.
