Kansas City Brigade News Release

Chicago, IL - Russ Michna's late touchdown run sealed the 12 point Chicago Rush comeback. Michna scored from one yard out with 11 seconds left and helped the Rush (10-3) defeat the Kansas City Brigade (3-10) 52-47. In a game that featured nine lead changes these Central Division rivals kept the sold out Allstate Arena (16,164) entertained until the final seconds.

Michna and the balanced Rush offense proved to be too much for the Kansas City defense. Michna threw five touchdown passes to three different receivers to lead Chicago to their conference leading tenth win. Michna completed 25 passes on 37 attempts for 296 yards and six total touchdowns (one rush). Donovan Morgan led all receivers with 14 receptions for 153 yards. Morgan along with Damian Harrell both caught two touchdown passes. Travis LaTendresse added four catches for 73 yards and two total touchdowns (one rush).

D Bryant and the Brigade did all they could to hold off the Rush. Bryant led Kansas City to a 12 point lead in the fourth quarter. The Brigade offense would shut down after leading by 12. Bryant finished the night 18 of 27 for 164 yards and five total touchdowns (one rush). Kansas City's only turnover was a Bryant interception. Charles Frederick led the team in receiving for the second straight week with 73 yards. Frederick, Jerel Myers, and Ces'are Manning each scored one touchdown. FB Dawan Moss continues his solid play with 41 rushing yards and one touchdown.

Offensive lineman Jamarr Ward and defensive lineman Chris Demaree each recorded one touchdown a piece to begin the fourth quarter. Ward's seven yard touchdown reception put the Brigade back on top 41-35 with 13:35 left to play. On the ensuing drive Demaree would return a Russ Michna interception 42 yards for his first touchdown as a member of the Brigade. Demaree's touchdown would extend the Kansas City lead to 47-35. Kansas City would not score in the final 9:21 as Chicago would go on to win by five.
