His tally came in the first quarter to tie the score at 2-2. Mariano Bollella, who played with La Raza in the World Indoor Soccer League, scored two goals and assisted another. Both goals came on the power play. Storm points leader Matthew Stewart, Stephen Armstrong and Fabinho also netted goals. Stephen Armstrong is 19th with 43 points, and he leads the league in three-point goals with eight. Carlos "Chile" Farias and Mariano Bollella are tied for 20th place with 42 points apiece.
- Storm's La Raza connection: Mariano Bollella and Fabinho won a championship for La Raza when the Mexican-based team was part of the World Indoor Soccer League, and Bollella was the league's most valuable player that 2000 season.
- La Raza vs. Storm, head-to-head: Monterrey has a 2-1 series lead against Chicago this season. The Storm topped host Monterrey, 16-12, on Nov. 1, 2007, during La Raza's MISL debut, with Stephen Armstrong and Chile Farias each scoring two second-half goals. On Jan. 4, La Raza clipped the Storm, 16-14, at the Sears Centre. Victor Negrete's goal with 50 seconds remaining in regulation gave La Raza the two-point advantage.
- La Raza on a roll: La Raza's six-game winning streak is the best in the MISL. With the top six teams advancing to the playoffs, Monterrey currently holds the final slot, only four games behind the first-place Milwaukee Wave. Monterrey's offense leads the league with 334 points, but the defense is second-worst with 310 points allowed.
- Road/home tendencies: The Storm are 7-5 at the Sears Centre and 6-5 on the road. With a Storm victory, Chicago would match last season's home win total at the Sears Centre. Monterrey is 5-7 on the road and 7-4 at Arena de Monterrey.
