MISL Disciplines Leo Pernia: The Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) announced that it has fined Chicago Storm D/M Leo Pernia an undisclosed amount and suspended him for two additional games for inappropriate and unprofessional behavior in Chicago's home match versus the Milwaukee Wave on November 26, 2004. Pernia was issued a Red Card and ejected from the match. Pernia, who already served his automatic one-game suspension for receiving a red card on Sunday, November 28 versus the St. Louis Steamers, will serve his additional two-game suspension on Friday, December 3 versus Monterrey and Saturday, December 4 at Milwaukee.

Goalkeeper-of-the-Month Honors: Chicago Storm goalkeeper Danny Waltman was named Goalkeeper-of-the-Month by the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) after a stellar performance between the pipes in November. The 23-year-old netminder had a 4-2 record during the month with a 5.17 goals-against average, and a .710 save percentage. During November, Waltman led the Storm to home wins over Cleveland and Milwaukee, as well as victories on the road against previously-undefeated Philadelphia and the two-time defending MISL Champion Baltimore Blast where he recorded 18 saves in a 3-1 victory. For the season the Gig Harbor, Washington native is 5-2 with a .709 save percentage and a 5.89 g.a.a., in starting seven of eight games for Chicago. The University of Washington graduate played one season with the Seattle Sounders in the A-League before joining the Storm. Waltman was named the MISL Goalkeeper of the Week on November 15.

Making an Immediate Impact: Chicago Storm forward Awadalla Morad will look to continue his stellar play this weekend against the Monterrey Tigres and Milwaukee Wave. The speedy forward racked up three goals and three assists for six total points in his first two professional games, last weekend. "Awad" made his first appearance in a Storm uniform last weekend after missing the first 6 games of the season due to a groin injury. After making a full recovery, the West Bank, Palestine native made a huge impact with two goals and one assist in a thrilling 8-7 victory over division rival Milwaukee on November 26 at the UIC Pavilion. Morad, who now lives in Burbank, Illinois then proceeded to record one goal and two assists in an 8-7 loss against the St. Louis Steamers at the Savvis Center two days later.

Moard joined the Storm after playing outdoor soccer for Winged Bull of the National Soccer League in Chicago. Despite being injured for most of the 2003 NSL Outdoor Season, the 5'10", 155-pound forward managed to lead the NSL in goals by scoring 13 in just 8 games. After being injured for 2 months, "Awad" netted four goals in the Illinois Amateur Cup Final against Schwaben FC. He also led Winged Bull and the NSL Major Division in scoring in the 2003/04 Indoor Season, notching 28 goals in 16 games to lead Winged Bull to their first Overall Championship in nearly 10 years. Despite many professional offers, Morad has thus far decided to keep himself local and the Illinois Select Team has benefited from this as the speedy forward scored two goals on Sunday of the Memorial Day Weekend Tournament in Fort Wayne, Indiana, netting against Indiana and Wisconsin to clinch Illinois their first Region II Select Team Tournament Championship in over a decade.
