June 2, 2010 - Indoor Football League (IFL) - Chicago Slaughter News Release

OFFMAN ESTATES - The Chicago Slaughter (6-5), the premier indoor football team in the Chicagoland area, will hit the road this weekend to battle against the Rochester Raiders (8-4) in the first ever outdoor IFL game in league history. The Raiders will host the Chicago Slaughter in United Conference action at 7:30 p.m. (EDT) Saturday night at Marina Dodge Stadium.

In a highly competitive Central North Division, the 6-5 Slaughter is currently just one game back with the Bloomington Extreme (6-5) behind the first place Green Bay Blizzard (7-4). Coming off of a big victory over the first place Blizzard at home two weeks ago for the second time this season, the Slaughter secured back to back wins in an 83-49 victory over the West Michigan ThunderHawks (5-6) last weekend breaking the IFL scoring record. After gaining sole possession of the final wild card playoff spot in the IFL United Conference, with just three weeks left in the regular season, the Slaughter is looking to continue their momentum heading into post-season play.

"We are peaking at the right time with our offense and defense hitting on all cylinders," said Slaughter GM Alan Perkins. "Our team is 6-2 in our last eight games and we have a real shot at winning our division. We're a strong playoff contender."

Kickoff for the Slaughter's historic outdoor road game against the Rochester Raiders is set for 7:30 p.m. (EDT) this Saturday, June 5th. The Slaughter will face the LaCrosse Spartans at home the following weekend for their last home game of the regular season at 7:05 p.m. (CDT) on Saturday, June 12th, at the Sears Centre Arena.
