
Chicago Slaughter Bolster Roster Heading into Final

HOFFMAN ESTATES - The Chicago Slaughter (6-6), the premier indoor football team in the Chicagoland area, bolstered their roster with four veteran players - including two former Slaughter players who were part of the 2009 undefeated 2000 Championship team - heading into tonight's big matchup with the LaCrosse Spartans (2-10) at the Sears Centre Arena for the last regular scheduled Slaughter home game for 2010 season.
* Nick Cosentino (FB/RB), at 6'2 and 255 lbs, Cosentino attended the College of DuPage (COD) and was a member of the 2009 Chicago Slaughter team. Cosentino played in all 14 games of the 2009 season with the Slaughter helping them go undefeated and win the CIFL Championship.
* Brandon Eaton (OL), is another former member of the Chicago Slaughter and fan favorite during the 2009 Championship season. At 6'2 and 310 lbs, Eaton played college ball for the University of Hawaii where he was awarded All-Conference honors as a senior.
* Taurean Robinson (OL), a 4-year starter for Southeast Missouri State, the 6'4, 310 lb. lineman was at the 2006 Tampa Bay Buccaneers training camp. Robinson started the 2010 season with the Alaska Wild and comes to the Slaughter with strong experience in the IFL.
* Rasheed Ward (WR), comes to the Slaughter from Northwestern University. At 6'0 and 185 lbs., Ward had 51 catches for 526 yards during his senior year in 2008. He played in every collegiate game with 20 career starts, ending his collegiate career at Northwestern totaling 12 receptions for 1,271 yards, 17th all-time leading receiver in the school's history.
In a highly competitive Central North Division, the Slaughter (6-6) is currently in third place behind the Bloomington Extreme (7-5) and first place Green Bay Blizzard (8-4). With just two weeks left in the regular season,playoff hopes are still alive as the Slaughter looks to build momentum heading into post-season play.
FAN APPRECIATION NIGHT: Tonight is "Fan Appreciation Night" at the Sears Centre - not just for Slaughter fans, for Hawks fans as well. Tonight's program includes a special appearance by the Chicago Blackhawks Ice Crew (Blackhawks dance team) and performance by injured Slaughter DL Chris Pisani, who has become a fan favorite this season dancing a mean jig to Dropkick Murphys, 'I'm shipping up to Boston,' to help rally fans during Hawks' home games at the United Center. Fans in attendance Saturday night wearing their Chicago hockey jersey will be given a 'buy one get one free' ticket offer; fans who have already purchased tickets in advance will receive a voucher for a Slaughter playoff game or for the 2011 season.
