CHICAGO - Sylvia Fowles of the WNBA Chicago Sky (8-17) helped the USA Women's Olympic Basketball team bring home the gold medal at the Beijing Olympics, and lead Team USA in scoring, rebounds and field goal percentage.
Following Fowles' gold medal efforts, she will resume playing with the Chicago Sky this week now that the league-wide Olympic hiatus has ended. This week the Sky hit the road to play the New York Liberty (15-10) at Madison Square Garden on Thursday, August 28 at 6:30 p.m., followed by a game against the Washington Mystics (10-16) in Washington, DC, on Friday, August 29 at 6 p.m. The team returns home on Sunday, August 31 to face off against rival Detroit Shock (16-11) at 5 p.m. at the UIC Pavilion.
OLYMPICS - SYLVIA FOWLES
Team USA vs. Australia - Saturday, August 23, 2008 In the gold medal game, the 2008 U.S. Women's Olympic Team had another strong performance with a 92-65 blowout over Australia to capture USA Basketball's fourth consecutive gold medal. The Sky's Sylvia Fowles contributed 13 points and five rebounds off the bench. First-time Olympian Fowles led Team USA in scoring with 13.4 points per game, rebounds with 8.4 per game and field goal percentage (.643).
Gold Medal Interviews Fowles will be reunited with her Chicago Sky teammates on Tuesday, August 26th. She will be available for interviews as she greets her teammates with her gold medal at Attack Athletics after the team's scheduled practice with media availability beginning at 11:45 a.m. Fowles and fellow Team USA member Katie Smith will also be honored for their Olympic efforts in a pre-game ceremony before the August 31 game against Detroit at the UIC Pavilion.
CHICAGO 2016 TICKET OFFER
Sky fans have the opportunity to support Chicago's bid for the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games and cheer the Sky on toward their first-ever playoff berth with a special Final 5 Playoff Push Plan. The special ticket plan includes a ticket to each of the Sky's last five regular season home games of the 2008 season as well as a Sky t-shirt. For each plan purchased and for single tickets purchased using the code CHI2016, the Sky will donate 25% of the ticket price to Chicago 2016. Fans are encouraged to come out to the Sky's remaining 2008 home games to cheer the team on toward the playoffs and support Chicago's Olympic bid.

SKY SPORTS CAREER FAIR
The Sky is hosting the Chicago Sky Career Fair, geared towards individuals interested in careers in sports, on Thursday, September 4, 2008 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the UIC Pavilion in advance of the Chicago Sky vs. Seattle Storm game. Attendees will be able to meet with representatives from various teams, companies and departments to find out about full, part-time and seasonal positions as well as internships. Organizations and teams confirmed to attend include: Chicago Sky, Chicago White Sox, Chicago Wolves, Chicago Blackhawks, Chicago Fire, Chicago Shamrox, Chicago Storm, Chicago Red Stars, Windy City Thunderbolts, Arena Football 2 and more.
