CHICAGO - The WNBA Chicago Sky (8-17) begins the league-wide Olympic hiatus this week, with all games suspended through the end of August. The Sky will resume playing on Thursday, August 28 at 6:30 p.m. against the New York Liberty (15-10) at Madison Square Garden. During the hiatus, members of the Chicago Sky will continue making community outreach appearances throughout Chicago.

On Tuesday, July 22, the Sky defeated the Indiana Fever (12-14) at home with a 68-60 victory. Candice Dupree contributed 20 points and nine rebounds, and Sylvia Fowles returned to play in her first game since injuring her knee on June 3. She came off the bench and finished with five rebounds and one block in 12 minutes. On Thursday, July 24, the Sky lost 78-66 to the San Antonio Silver Stars (18-9). San Antonio had led by as may as 14 points, and the Sky got within two points but could not capture the win despite 20 points and 10 rebounds from Dupree. On Saturday, July 26, the Sky lost 79-65 to the hot Houston Comets (14-12). Dupree earned a season high-tying 28 points, followed by 15 from Jia Perkins, but it was not enough to top the Comets, now in the midst of a five- game winning streak.
