CHICAGO FIRE TO HOST D.C. UNITED AT TOYOTA PARK

The Chicago Fire (9-5-5, 32 pts.) returns to TOYOTA PARK this weekend to host D.C. United (8-9-1 25 pts.) in the third of three regular season meetings this Saturday, Aug. 12 (My50, 7:30 p.m.). The teams 2-0 at RFK Stadium and then losing at home 2-1 on June 7. The Fire are in second place in the Eastern Conference after their 2-1 win at New England last week.

The Fire are locked in a tie with D.C. posting an all-time record of 13-13-7 across league play, but hold the advantage in games contested in the Chicagoland area with a record of 8-4-4.

SATURDAY IS POLISH NIGHT AT TOYOTA PARK

This Saturday, August 16, is Polish Night at TOYOTA PARK. While the Fire gear up to take on D.C. United, fans are encouraged to park early and catch the unique music of Polish triplet musicians, Alizma, performing on the stage in FireFest. Hip Hop group Dynamic Dance Werks will also be featured pre-game in the FireFest area. Fans will be able to sample Polish food, bounce in the Fire inflatables, play new video games, play 3v3, and much more.

SEGARES UP FOR SIERRA MIST GOAL OF THE WEEK

Fire defender Gonzalo Segares has been nominated for the Sierra Mist Goal of the Week honor. In the 81st minute of play, Segares sent a 35-yard shot on net. McBRIDE WATCH

The U.S. Men's Olympic Team, including captain and recent Fire addition Brian McBride, have posted a record of 1-0-1 so far in group play of the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. On Thursday, Aug. 7, McBride started and played 74 minutes as the USA triumphed over Japan 1-0. In the second match of group play yesterday, McBride played a full 90 minutes as the USA tied the Netherlands team 2-2. McBride and the USA will play their final group stage game on Wednesday, Aug. 13, taking on Nigeria. The game will be broadcast on the USA Network at 4 a.m. CT.

FRANK KLOPAS 8TH ANNUAL FIREWORKS FOR KIDS GOLF OUTING

On Monday, Sept 8, the FireWorks for Kids Foundation will hold the 8th annual golf outing at Silver Lakes Country Club, in Orland Park, IL. The current Fire technical director, Frank Klopas, serves on the Board of Directors for the FireWorks for Kids Foundation lends his name and support to this golf outing. Celebrities expected to attend include the entire Fire team and coaching staff, as well as members of other local sports teams. Every foursome will golf with a celebrity in a scramble format. The day includes 18 holes of golf with a chance to win a car, lunch, a cocktail reception, and will conclude with a buffet dinner and prizes. For more information call (708) 496-6740.

BLANCO AND TACO BELL PUT ON CLINIC FOR 8 LUCKY FANS AND 2 EMPLOYEES

Eight lucky customers and two Taco Bell employees were selected to have a private soccer lesson with Cuauhtémoc Blanco today at TOYOTA PARK. The clinic consisted of drills and a scrimmage, with lunch provided by Taco Bell. All participants had the opportunity to get autographs and photos with Blanco. (Photo Attached.
