CHICAGO, IL - Baggio Husidic's second half goal was not enough to propel the Fire to victory at TOYOTA PARK, as Chivas USA forward Maicon Santos scored a late header to tie the match at 1-1.

The draw was the Fire's (2-2-2, 8 points) second of the season and snapped the team's two-game winning streak.

A great team effort gave the Fire the lead eight minutes into the second half. A sly give-and-go between Mike Banner and Marco Pappa ignited the opportunity on the left side of the field. Pappa broke free and switched the point of attack with a lofted cross to an open Patrick Nyarko well inside the 18-yard box. Nyarko extended to bring the ball down and with his second touch sent the ball across the mouth of the goal where a charging Husidic tapped the ball in to give the Fire a 1-0 lead after 53 minutes of play.

Chivas USA equalized in the 76th minute. Sacha Klejstan sent a corner into the Fire penalty area where Santos rose to the ball and headed it past a diving Dykstra and into the back of the net.

The Fire pressured for the go-ahead goal and almost regained the lead in the 80th minute when Nyarko snuck behind the Chivas defense and latched onto a ball on the right wing. The crafty midfielder delivered a cross into the area, but was unable to connect with an oncoming Husidic and Chivas USA cleared the ball to keep the score even at 1-1.

The Fire finished their two-game home stand with a 1-0-1 record and return to the road for their fourth and fifth road matches of the season, starting with a trip north of the border to take on Toronto FC on Saturday, May 8 (3:00 PM CT, My50) and at Kansas City on Saturday, May 15 (7:30 PM CT, FSC/FSE). The Fire will return to TOYOTA PARK to challenge Paris Saint-Germain in the first match of the Chicago Sister Cities International Cup on Wednesday, May 19 at 7:00 PM CT with Legia Warsaw to challenge Red Star Belgrade immediately following.
