
Chicago Fire Soccer Club Acquires Giuseppe Gentile Through MLS

CHICAGO - The Chicago Fire Soccer Club announced Friday that the club has acquired forward Giuseppe Gentile through the MLS Waiver Draft. Per league and team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Gentile relinquished his college eligibility after the MLS SuperDraft, and then signed a contract with MLS making him available to all teams.
In three seasons with the 49ers, Gentile scored 27 goals and tallied 12 assists in 67 career matches. In 2013, Gentile scored eight goals, including four game winners, and led his side to the Conference USA Championship, earning Tournament MVP, All-Conference First Team and First Team All-Region honors.
A native of Charlotte, N.C., Gentile was named 2010 Charlotte Observer Player of the Year and earned 4A Southwest Conference honors after a standout prep career at Ardrey Kell High School.
