
Chicago Fire Name Gregg Elkin Vice President Of Communications

CHICAGO, Ill. (February 29, 2008) - Chicago Fire President and General Manager John Guppy today announced the organization has named Gregg Elkin as Vice President of Communications.
He will oversee all of the organization's external and internal communication efforts as they relate to the areas of business, marketing and community initiatives as well as on-field accomplishments.
"I am thrilled to welcome Gregg to the Chicago Fire at what is a very exciting time for our Club," said Chicago Fire President and General Manager, John Guppy. "Gregg is a tremendously talented and experienced communications professional, and he will be instrumental in further developing awareness for all the great things that are happening with the Fire organization."
A veteran of more than 22 years in the sports public relations field, Elkin spent the last four years as the Senior Director of Communications for Major League Baseball's Texas Rangers. He has also worked with the NBA's Dallas Mavericks and at the collegiate level for Indiana University, the University of Wisconsin and University of Nevada-Las Vegas.
