
Chicago Fire Midfielder Aleksandar Katai Named to Serbia National Team Roster

BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. - The Chicago Fire Soccer Club today announced that midfielder Aleksandar Katai has been called up to Serbia's national team for a pair of qualifying matches for the UEFA EURO 2020.
Katai, 28, will join Serbia to take on Portugal on Sept. 7. Set to begin at 1:45 p.m. CT, the match will take place at Red Star Stadium in Belgrade, Serbia. The team will then travel to face Luxembourg on Sept. 10. The match will take place at Josy Barthel Stadium in Luxembourg City, Luxembourg, with a start time of 1:45 p.m. CT.
The Srbobran, Serbia native made his international debut for Serbia's senior team on Nov. 13, 2015 against the Czech Republic. Since his debut, Katai has recorded seven appearances for Serbia. The midfielder recently notched an assist in a 4-1 win over Lithuania in a European Qualifier on June 10, 2019.
