
Chicago Fire Host Houston Dynamo In Sunday Afternoon Affair

CHICAGO FIRE vs. Houston Dynamo
- The Fire hold a 4-7-6 all-time regular season record against the Dynamo, including a 2-3-3 record in matches played at Toyota Park.
- Two Fire players are Texas products. Defender Hunter Jumper, who tallied his first career MLS goal with a diving header in the 13th minute of the Fire's 1-0 win over Sporting Kansas City on Friday, Aug. 23, and midfielder Corben Bone, are both Plano, Texas natives.
- The Men in Red are 23-0-5 when scoring first since Frank Klopas took over as interim head coach of the Fire on May 30, 2011.
- Costa Rican defender Gonzalo Segares made his 200th career MLS Regular Season appearance on Aug. 23, moving into a tie with Jesse Marsch in fifth place on the club's all-time leaders list
- Patrick Nyarko entered the match as a second half substitute on Aug. 23 after missing two matches while experiencing concussion symptoms. Nyarko now has 150 career MLS Regular Season appearances and trails Jim Curtin by one appearance for 11th on the leader board.
- Current Dynamo forward Calen Carr began his professional career as a member of the Fire. Drafted in the first round (10th overall) of the 2006 MLS SuperDraft, Carr made 82 regular season appearances, scoring nine goals and adding three assists across five seasons.
CHICAGO FIRE PARTNER WITH THE GREATER CHICAGO FOOD DEPOSITORY TO HOLD FOOD DRIVE ON SUNDAY, SEPT. 1
The Chicago Fire will host a food drive during the Chicago Fire vs. Houston Dynamo match on Sunday, Sept. 1. Fans attending the match are encouraged to bring shelf-stable food items to any gate to help feed their neighbors in need.
The Chicago Fire have partnered with the Greater Chicago Food Depository to support their efforts to help collect food and raise awareness for the hundreds of thousands of men, women and children in Cook County who struggle to find food every day. The Greater Chicago Food Depository, Chicago's food bank, is a nonprofit food distribution and training center providing food for hungry people while striving to end hunger in the community.
The Food Depository distributes donated and purchased food through a network of 650 pantries, soup kitchens and shelters to 678,000 adults and children in Cook County every year. Last year, the Food Depository distributed 64 million pounds of nonperishable food and fresh produce, dairy products and meat, the equivalent of 134,800 meals every day.

FIFTH INSTALLMENT OF FIRE FRIDAYS TO TAKE PLACE AT THE GLOBE PUB
The Chicago Fire Soccer Club will celebrate the fifth Fire Friday's event at The Globe Pub (1934 W. Irving Park Road) on Friday, August 30 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. CT ahead of the Fire's match against Eastern Conference foe Houston Dynamo at Toyota Park on Sunday, Sept. 1 at 2:00 p.m. CT (UniMas/My50/La Ley 107.9).
Anyone wearing Chicago Fire gear at the event will get a discounted $4 Green Line and $4 Sierra Nevada bottles.
The club launched the Fire Fridays campaign in an effort to engage soccer supporters, deepen relationships and build a stronger club culture throughout the Chicagoland area. The Fire have partnered with local bars, restaurants and establishments to wear Fire gear on Fridays and designated event days throughout the MLS season. The Fire will also bring together Fire players, partners, front office and supporters for a happy hour or event prior to each weekend Fire home match during the summer and fall of the 2013 season.
