
Chicago Fire FC Loans Homegrown Forward Victor Bezerra to Detroit City FC

CHICAGO - Chicago Fire FC today announced that the Club has loaned Homegrown forward Victor Bezerra to USL Championship side Detroit City FC for the remainder of the season. Chicago retains the right to recall Bezerra at any point, subject to MLS roster compliance guidelines. Per Club policy, additional terms of the deal were not disclosed.
A product of the Chicago Fire Academy, Bezerra, 24, signed with the First Team on Dec. 22, 2021. He made five appearances for the First Team during his rookie season in 2022. Since then, the forward has made 26 appearances for Chicago Fire FC II in MLS NEXT Pro, scoring 11 goals and tallying three assists.
Prior to signing a professional contract, Bezerra was a standout at Indiana University, where he scored 28 goals across all competitions. As a sophomore, Bezerra was a MAC Hermann Trophy runner-up, after winning both the Big Ten regular season and tournament titles. During his sophomore season, Bezerra led Indiana to a record-21st College Cup, where the Hoosiers fell in the championship match against Marshall.
