CHICAGO - Chicago Fire FC (2-5-3-0, 9 points) fell 1-0 against Eastern-conference leaders Crown Legacy FC (8-1-2-1, 27 points) on Sunday evening at SeatGeek Stadium in Bridgeview, Illinois.

The first half was a back-and-forth affair, with the teams finishing almost even in shots and shots on goal. It looked as though Chicago would break the tie but it was Crown Legacy who scored first, when David Poreba found himself one-on-won with Gal and capitalized on the opportunity in the 40th minute.

Chicago found a way behind the Charlotte defense on several occasions, but the most dangerous came in the 26th and 38th minutes. First midfielder Harold Osorio sent a pass across the box for Luka Prpa, whose shot was saved and parried to the right. Omari Glasgow kept it in play, but his ball back across the goal ended up going out for a throw-in. Eight minutes later, Glasgow controlled a long ball that was sent up the left side and he carried it inside. Glasgow slipped a pass for Osorio, who passed it with one touch to the middle of the box but Michael Nesci's shot was saved by Charlotte goalkeeper Isaac Walker.

It was Chicago goalkeeper Jeff Gall who was called to action early in the second half, making a point-blank save from one yard out in the 46th minute to keep the score the same.

Defender Andreas Ueland started his first match for Chicago Fire II but was shown a second yellow card in the 74th minute that left Chicago with one player less for the remaining 16 minutes of play. With the result, Chicago Fire II remains in 11th place in the Eastern Conference and returns to action with back-to-back road games.

Chicago will travel to Ohio to face Columbus Crew 2 at 1 p.m. CT on Sunday, June 4 at Lower.com Field. The match will be broadcast on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.
