Chicago Defeats Lake Country in Game Two

CHICAGO, ILL. - The Chicago Dogs take game two of the series against the Lake Country DockHounds 7-3 on Saturday evening.
Mickey Jannis would open the game for Chicago with the ever-difficult knuckleball pitch in his bag of tricks. Jesse Remington would start on the hill for the DockHounds.
Danny Mars grounded into a fielder's choice but would score the first run for the Dogs in the bottom of the first.
Scoring for Lake Country began in the top of the second inning with Tristen Carranza. He jacked a solo home run over the wall in left-center field to lead off the inning.
Aaron Takacs drew a walk in the next at-bat, and made his way to home plate on three passed balls from the Dogs battery. Jannis pitched just two innings, and his knuckle had so much movement, it ended up fooling the catcher (hence the three passed balls).
In the third, Gabriel Noriega brought Jake Snider across home plate with a sacrifice-fly. Lake Country then led 3-1.
The Dogs would score in the fourth while grounding into a double play, making the score 3-2. In the sixth frame, Grant Kay hit a solo homer to tie it at three. Soon after, a sac-fly from Cosimo Cannella would put Chicago up 4-3.
The eighth would produce three runs for the Dogs. The first scoring play of the evening would be a Charlie Tilson 2-RBI single to center field. The third run to come across would come off the bat of Ryan Lidge, with Chicago's third sac-fly of the ball game. The final score was 7-3, Chicago defeating Lake Country.
Lake Country will wrap up their time in the Windy City against the Chicago Dogs on Sunday, June 19th at 3 p.m.
