Chicago Blaze News Release
Naperville, IL - The Chicago Blaze today announced their signing of Kina Brown for the remainder of the 2005 season. The 6'1" forward out of Western Michigan had played the previous three seasons with the Blaze. Last season, she was traded to Dallas for Keisha Anderson, where she helped the team win the NWBL Pro Cup.
"We're glad to have Kina back with us, and we look forward to capitalizing on her leadership and experience," remarked Blaze General Manager Rob Graham. "Given her prior experience playing with many on the Blaze team, we feel confident she'll hit the ground running."
Kina will suit up for the Blaze' next home game Sunday, February 20 at 3pm at North Central College against her former teammates on the Dallas Fury.
The NWBL showcases professional women basketball players from across the nation, including players from the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) who choose to stay in the U.S. to play during the off-season. 2005 teams include the Birmingham Power, CHICAGO BLAZE, Colorado Chill, Dallas Fury, Lubbock Hawks, and the San Jose Spiders.
