Chicago Bandits News Release
ROSEMONT - After dropping their first series of the season to the Dallas Charge, the Bandits (4-2) will hit the road for a five-game trip, beginning with three games at CONSOL Energy Park in Washington, Pennsylvania against the Rebellion (3-6).
In 2015, the Bandits enjoyed much success against the Rebellion, winning 10 of 12 contests. This mark included winning all six games on the road. Danielle Zymkowitz knocked in at least one run in four games against the Rebellion last season, while Sara Moulton and Michelle Gascoigne each collected a pair of wins.
Jill Barrett will look to continue her torrid hitting pace at the top of the order. Currently, the Bandits shortstop ranks tops among full-time starters in batting average (.500), hits (11), total bases (12) and on-base percentage (.560). The Bandits' top third of the order received a boost in their last series against the Charge, as Barrett continued to reach base at a high rate, accompanied by Emily Allard (.450 avg) in the No. 2 slot and the return of Brittany Cervantes from her season overseas in Japan.
For the Rebellion, they have limped to a 3-7 mark through their first nine games this season, including being swept by the Akron Racers in their most recent series. However, at CONSOL Energy Park, the Rebellion have been a touch better, compiling a 3-4 record.
The Rebellion have been lead by outfielder Alexa Peterson (.419 avg, 1 HR, 7 RBI) and catcher Mandy Ogle (.385 avg, 1 HR, 3 RBI). In the circle, veteran Dallas Escobedo is their most-used pitcher, having logged 18.0 innings this season with an 11:1 strikeout-to-walk ratio.
This will be the first of 10 meetings between the Bandits and Rebellion during the 2016 season.

Players to watch
The Bandits have gotten off to a quick start in 2016 thanks to a stellar top third of the order. Jill Barrett, Emily Allard and Brittany Cervantes have combined to hit at a .472 clip through the first six games of the season. All three have on-base percentages exceeding .450. The trio has also combined to swipe a perfect four bases in four attempts and drive in 13 runs.
In the circle, Lacey Waldrop has gotten off to a quick start in her second season in the NPF. The 2015 first round selection has collected wins in her first two starts, including one complete game effort. Opponents are hitting just .204 off the righty through 13.0 innings and she has fanned 11 batters.
Pennsylvania has gotten off to a sluggish start, but Alexa Peterson has been one of the lone bright spots. The former USSSA Pride member, entering her second year with the Rebellion, has been red-hot to start 2016. Currently, she leads the team with a .419 batting average. Her seven RBI are more than halfway past her 2015 season total of 12.
