Albuquerque, N.M., January 24, 2008 - The Albuquerque Thunderbirds dance team, the Storm Chasers, and Team Athletic Supply have joined forces to host a cheer camp for Albuquerque's youth on Saturday, January 26th from 12:30pm. - 5:30pm.
Members of the 2007 - 08 Storm Chasers and choreographer Leslie Chant will spend the afternoon teaching the camp participants new cheers and routines. The camp members will then be invited to perform during halftime at the Thunderbirds home game on Saturday night against the Sioux Falls Sky Force.
"This is our first cheer camp and we are excited and thrilled to offer this camp for all children interested in cheerleading." Storm Chasers Choreographer Leslie Chant said, "It will be a great opportunity for the participants to perform at the Thunderbirds half-time to show their friends and family what they learned at the camp."
Team Athletic Supply is the official camp sponsor and will be on hand to donate prize packs to every camp participant. Team Athletic Supply has an assortment of athletic equipment and clothing at team pricing, not retail! They have extensive choices in gear for cheerleading, softball, baseball, volleyball, football and basketball and are located at 2430 Washington St. NE, less than one block south of Menaul.

The Thunderbirds take on the Rio Grande Valley Vipers again on Friday, January 25th at Tingley Coliseum; game time is set for 7:00 pm. Friday will be "Faith and Family Night" group tickets are available for any interested congregations and their families.

The Thunderbirds stay focused on the community by participating in community events such as the Read to Achieve Program as well as D-League Cares. In the past two seasons the Thunderbirds have worked over 3,000 hours in the community, staying dedicated to Albuquerque and New Mexico.
