July 6, 2005 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Chattanooga Steamers News Release
Chattanooga, TN 7-5-2005-The A.B.A. Chattanooga Steamers Basketball team reached an agreement with Partnership Marketing Group (PMG), also of Chattanooga, to provide marketing services for the Steamers today. Final details were ironed out between Robert Pettway, President of PMG and John Tyner, head of the Steamers earlier this afternoon, with Pettway ultimately agreeing to handle the team's publicity and marketing.
PMG is a full service sponsorship and promotions agency that specializes in retail, resort, sports, and entertainment programs. Pettway has over 20 years of marketing experience in Tennessee as well as Georgia. PMG also provides media planning and brand development services in addition to marketing consulting services.
The Chattanooga Steamers are one of three expansion teams in the American Basketball Association's 4th Division, which also includes teams in Nashville, Atlanta, Orlando, and Miami. Of the six teams in the division, three are brand new expansions.
"The establishment of the division in combination with three new teams in the region makes marketing and publicity one of the most important aspects in making the division as well as individual teams successful," stated Tyner.
