
Charleston Battery's Tyler Hemming called up to Canadian national team

Charleston, SC. Charleston Battery midfielder Tyler Hemming has been called into the squad for Canada's match on May 30 versus Cyprus in Larnaca, Cyprus; Hemming will join the team for training camp plus the international fixture as Canada prepares for this summer's Gold Cup.
Hemming joined the Battery this season and has had an immediate impact, starting five of the first seven games. This is Hemmings first call up to Canada's full national team. Hemming will miss the Charleston Battery's May 30 game versus the Cleveland City Stars.
Hemming arrived in Charleston after spending the 2007 & 2008 seasons with Major League Soccer's Toronto FC. Prior to turning pro Hemming was a four-year starter at Hartwick College and was named the Atlantic Soccer Conference Player of the Year in two consecutive years.
Hemming, 6-0, 175 lbs., 23 yrs., is a native of London, Ontario.
