Charleston Battery News Release

Charleston, SC. The Charleston Battery heads to Antigua for a pair of USL PRO games this weekend. The Battery will play Antigua Barracudas twice at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium; the games are set for Friday and Sunday with both matches kicking off at 7:00 PM. The Battery (9-3) enters the games on the back of a 3-1 home win versus the Harrisburg City Islanders in a game played last Saturday night at Blackbaud Stadium.

Both games will be broadcast live on 1340 AM the official broadcast partner of the Charleston Battery with the pre-game match build-up starting at 6:45 PM.

Jose Cuevas, Navion Boyd and Ryan Richter all tallied as the Battery defeated Harrisburg on Saturday night. Boyd's goal was his first for the Battery; he also recorded an assist on Cuevas's goal.

The win kept the Battery in second position in the USL PRO standings five points adrift of the league-leading Orlando City Lions; the Battery has played one game fewer than Orlando.

The weekend games versus Antigua Barracuda will complete the four-game season series. The Battery defeated Antigua 4-0 on May 4 and 3-0 on June 15 in the first two matches with both games being played in Charleston.

Antigua's last USL PRO match was a 2-0 defeat suffered versus Orlando City in Orlando on June 17.

Goalkeeper Andrew Dykstra's loan from Major League Soccer has been extended through the weekend so Dykstra will be available for selection in Antigua. Dykstra has played eleven games for the Battery in 2012 earning six shutouts and a GAA of 0.64.

The Battery's next home game is on Friday July 6 versus the Charlotte Eagles at Blackbaud Stadium, Daniel Island.
