Charleston Battery News Release
Charleston, SC. Mayor Joseph P. Riley, Jr., and the Charleston Battery teamed up Monday to cut the ribbon at the newly-renovated Hampton Park Fitness Trial. The Charleston Battery squad ran the course and used the event as part of their pre-season conditioning program. The Hampton Park course has long been a favorite with runners and neighbors as it offers a method for gradual conditioning and all round fitness training.
The new equipment is named the "Parcourse FitCircuit", manufactured by Gametime. It consists of 8 separate fitness stations, with a total of 15 different exercise events. Each station has an informational sign demonstrating how to properly use the equipment. The stations are evenly staggered along the existing trail. The course was first installed in 1983.
