January 21, 2015 - NBA G League (G League)
Cleveland Charge News Release

The Canton Charge (13-11), presented by SecureData 365 and powered by the Cleveland Cavaliers, fell 109-107 to the Delaware 87ers (9-13) in a double overtime matinee affair at the Canton Memorial Civic Center on Wednesday afternoon. The 87ers' win marks their second in three tries against the Wine & Gold this season. Today's loss marks the fourth straight for Canton.

Delaware held Canton to 2-of-10 shooting and forced four turnovers for five points in the six minutes of overtime. The extra time was needed after a see-saw fourth quarter that featured 13 lead changes and six ties with neither team able to hit a go-ahead shot in the final 1:08 of regulation.

Cleveland Cavaliers' assignment Joe Harris posted 18 points and six rebounds in 39 minutes of action in his Charge debut. Jorge Gutierrez provided an all-around performance with 12 points, seven assists, five rebounds and three steals in 33 minutes. Charge forward Arinze Onuaku registered his eleventh straight double-double with 22 points and 13 rebounds with two steals in 45 minutes. This marks Onuaku's 16th double-double in 19 games this season, giving him a tie for second-most in the league in that category. The Charge received a boost off the bench from reserve guards Antoine Agudio and Chris Crawford who combined for 27 points.

The 87ers had three scorers score 20+, led by DJ Seeley's 26 points on 8-of-16 shooting in 47 minutes of action. Jared Cunningham netted 24 points in 49 minutes, while Drew Gordon added a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds in 40 minutes. Malcolm Lee scored 14 points on 6-of-12 shooting and grabbed six boards in 27 minutes.

The Charge opened the game with a slow start and saw Delaware's lead soar to 11 points at the three-minute mark of the first. The Charge found their rhythm late in the first and closed out the quarter on a 6-0 run to trail the 87ers 23-20 entering the second. Canton's rally was fueled by reserves Chris Crawford and Antoine Agudio, who combined for eight first-quarter points on a perfect 3-of-3 from the field.

An Antoine Agudio three-pointer with 8:28 remaining in the second quarter knotted the game at 28 a piece before the visiting 87ers answered with a 15-0 run to stretch their lead to 43-28. An active Delaware defense held Canton to 22% from the floor on 5-of-23 shooting in the second. With a balanced attack in the second stanza, Delaware shot an impressive 50% from the floor and saw their lead swell to 17 entering halftime at 54-37.

The two teams opened the third quarter exchanging buckets for the first five minutes of play. Malcolm Lee's three-pointer with 6:31 left gave Delaware their biggest lead of the game at 71-53. The Charge answered with an 8-0 run to cut into the lead and make it 61-71 with 3:58 left in the third. After a few back-and-forth possessions, the Charge again answered with rallying on an 11-0 run capped off by a Jorge Gutierrez jumper to tie the game at 74-74 entering the fourth period.

The Charge will hit the road for a visit to the Oklahoma City Blue (Oklahoma City Thunder affiliate) on Friday, January 23rd at 8:00 p.m.!
