Charge Fall at Home to Armor

The Canton Charge were defeated by the Springfield Armor, 104-92, in front of 2,493 at the Canton Memorial Civic Center on Tuesday night. The loss was the Charge's fourth-straight and dropped them to 10-14 on the season while the Armor climbed back to .500 at 12-12.

Canton came out firing in the first quarter as they posted 27 points on 10-of-19 shooting for a .526 percentage and a 27-23 advantage. Manny Harris alone had 12 points on 4-of-6 shooting in the opening period. Springfield would respond by outscoring the Charge 25-19 in the second to take a 48-46 lead into the intermission.

The difference came out of the half, when the Armor went on a 15-3 run to start the third quarter and gained a 63-49 advantage. Overall in the third, Springfield outshot Canton .458 to .250 in outscoring them 28-17 to take a 76-63 lead. The Armor were able to maintain throughout the rest of the game as they finished three road games in four days with a victory.

Harris finished with a personal and team season-high 32 points with six rebounds and two steals in 34 minutes played. Harris was efficient from the field, converting 11-of-18 attempts while also sinking 8-of-9 from the free-throw line. He entered the game eighth in the D-League in free-throw percentage and is now 57-of-64 for .891 percent in eight games played.

The Armor were led by Jordan Williams' double-double of 18 points and 14 rebounds with three blocks in 36 minutes. Dennis Horner and Lance Hurdle were strong off the bench for Springfield with Horner supplying 19 points in 30 minutes and Hurdle offering 16 in 34 minutes. JamesOn Curry, who came into tonight tied for first in the league in assists, had nine points and seven dimes in 26 minutes.

T.J. Campbell had his third-straight game with double digit scoring by providing 11 points in 25 minutes off the bench. Frank Hassell had 11 points, seven rebounds and two steals in 25 minutes starting at the center position. Both teams combined for 49 personal fouls and 61 free-throw attempts in the game; Canton committed 23 fouls while going 20-of-28 from the charity stripe and Springfield had 26 and hit 18-of-33 foul shots.

The Charge will head to the west coast for a three-game trip to California, beginning with a matchup at the Bakersfield Jam Friday night at 10:00 p.m.
