
BayHawks Acquire NBA Veteran Devin Brown

Erie, Pennsylvania, Tuesday, January 24 - The Erie BayHawks have acquired guard Devin Brown from the league's available player pool.
Brown (6-5, 210) is a product of the University of Texas-San Antonio and has played parts of eight NBA seasons with seven different teams including Denver, San Antonio, Utah, New Orleans, Cleveland and Chicago. His best NBA season was in 2006-07 when he appeared in 58 games for New Orleans (49 starts) and averaged 11.6 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game.
Brown last played in the NBA in 2009-10 with New Orleans and Chicago where he appeared in a total of 50 games, including 37 starts with New Orleans. After not playing during the 2010-11 season, Brown spent time playing in Poland earlier this season before returning to the states.
Prior to starting his NBA career, Brown played in the NBA Development League where he was drafted with the second overall pick in 2002 by the Fayetteville Patriots. Brown was named the 2003 NBA D-League MVP and awarded Rookie of the Year honors after averaging 16.9 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game.
The BayHawks roster currently stands at 10 players.
Brown is expected to join the team on Wednesday and be available when the BayHawks host the Sioux Falls Skyforce on Friday and Saturday night.
