Champions begin play Sunday

Anderson, IN. The ABA Anderson Champions will begin the 2006-2007 ABA season this Sunday at 505pm at the world famous Anderson Wigwam in Anderson, Indiana. The team is coached by former IU/NBA player Ray Tolbert and co-owned by former IU/NBA player Jesse Wilkerson. The game will be against the St. Louis Stunners, another 2006 ABA expansion team. The sponsor will be Cool Wave Water (www.coolwavewater.com), a company owned by Bobby Wilkerson. According to Jesse Wilkerson, co-owner, "This is a dream come true for my wife Jamie and me. To be an owner of a professional basketball team, to play in my home town, to have the support of the City, the YMCA, Boys Club and so many others is very heartwarming. We cannot wait until the red, white and blue ball goes up, Kojak Fuller gets the ball and hits a three. Wow."
